Tekst Etiket: Two fairly new hops in this 3rd edition of our Double Neipa series. Talus (US), delivering intens flavours of citrus, flowers and wood. Combined with Monroe (DE), which adds a touch of red current and strawberry to the party, this beer is just summer in a can. That’s life!

Bier Uitleg, in dit geval hop uitleg Talus™, previously known as HBC 692, is a variety from the Hop Breeding Company, which is a joint venture between John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches. It is the result of a hybrid pollination of the Sabro™ and open pollination. The aroma of Talus™ has been described as "intense flavors of citrus, flowers, and wood... with grapefruit, stone fruit, oak, coconut, and pine." The pine stands out as a great way to make the best Pacific Northwest IPA. Monroe is an exciting new hop variety that is rightfully starting to gain some attention. Monroe is an ex-pat of sorts, as it is wild American genetics, grown in one of the most historical hop growing regions. With a lower alpha content and an oil content right around 1.00ml/100 g, Monroe showcases itself at the beginning as mild and smooth. But Monroe quickly shows off its ripe red aromas. In the nose, there are wonderful notes of raspberries and cherries that will instantly bring a ray of summer sunshine.

Speciaal bier is hip en in! Is dat erg? Nee, integendeel, wij vinden het hartstikke gaaf dat er zoveel mooie bieren worden gebrouwen door evenzoveel kleine onafhankelijke brouwerijen. We zijn er trots op dat we deel uitmaken van deze beweging. Klinkt cliché, maar dat doen we met onverholen passie en plezier. Met zoveel stijlen en variaties is het niet gek dat steeds meer mensen de veelzijdigheid en mogelijkheden van bier beginnen te waarderen. Bier doet inmiddels niet meer onder voor wijn of whisky. En daar worden we gelukkig van!:
